Brent Spiner’s Justice League-style film could still work

After Star Trek: Nemesis was a flop at the box office, that was the end of Star Trek: The Next Generation until the crew reunited for the final season of Star Trek: Picard. However, after Nemesis, Brent Spiner and John Logan had an idea for another film that would have brought together all the captains of all the series, crews and villains in one epic battle. [via Fandomwire] Unsurprisingly, Paramount found it too expensive to produce, so the idea was not further considered. But things have changed over the years, and with Paramount+ interested in streaming movies, this might be the perfect time to revisit the Spiner and Logan idea.

We now have four additional captains that could be added to the lineup, including Captain Burnham [Sonequa Martin-Green]Captain Seven of Nine [Jeri Ryan]Captain Pike [Anson Mount]and Captain Freeman [Dawnn Lewis]. Or the four could be used alone for a film. This is the kind of crossover that would bring in fans from four different series and, in the right hands, could be just what the franchise needs to unite fans.

Since multiple villains would be included, we could see the Gorn, the Borg, Control, Badgey, and many others. While the crews could be brought back to help, even getting these four captains to work together as a team would be a real challenge. If Paramount+ really wants to go even better, it could also sign captains or admirals from the classic series.

Yes, this may sound like a far-fetched idea, but Star Trek has done a lot of weird things. And it would be great to see the Nu-Trek-era captains all together in an epic battle. Maybe even with Admiral Janeway [Kate Mulgrew] have the say. Now The would be a film worth the price of the Paramount+ subscription!
