Leonard’s injury has sparked strong reactions, with some even suggesting he should consider retiring due to his recurring health problems. Before his most recent knee injury, Leonard had been recovering from a torn ACL and a torn meniscus.

During an episode of Speak on FS1Pierce expressed his reaction to the news about Leonard. “When I heard the news I wasn’t shocked,Pierce said. “I mean, we saw him trying to come back for the United States this summer. That was canceled and they sent him home. Now we have to start the training camp. It’s almost to the point where, I’m really more worried, and it’s out of love for Kawhi.”

Pierce continued: “Because you hate to see one of your brothers, you know, former NBA players, go through this pain, these injuries and so on. IIt’s almost to the point where it might be time for Kawhi to call it quits. Seriously. You know, he’s been struggling with injuries since 2017. Kawhi has missed over 250 games. That’s a lot. That’s a lot.”

Harden realizes he will have to start the season without Leonard

James Harden also commented on how the Clippers plan to cope without Leonard to start the season. When asked how the team would handle Leonard’s absence, Harden emphasized the importance of fundamentals and strong defense.
