Masahiro Sakurai confirms final YouTube video release date

The one and only Masahiro Sakurai has taken us on quite a journey over the last few years, and it’s sad to know that his YouTube channel, Creating Games, is about to come to an end. For over two years, Sakurai has been revealing his insights into the gaming community, providing viewers with knowledge about how he believes games should be handled, designed, and managed. Don’t worry, he’s also made it clear that his “style” isn’t for everyone, but he’s tried to formulate it in a way that reflects across the gaming space. He has made videos about Super Smash Bros., Kirby, Kid Icarus, his cats, Mr. Satoru Iwata, and much more.

However, in a post on Twitter and on the YouTube page itself, Masahiro Sakurai revealed that there will be a 40-minute “special finale” for the channel on October 22nd. It will be released at a special time but will be available on the channel after release.

As you can imagine, many are sad that this is coming to an end. But it could also mean that Sakurai returns to Nintendo to develop some games for the next console. We’ll see if his future is detailed in the video.
