RACE START: Watch the short trip in Austin as Charles Leclerc storms forward and snatches the lead from Lando Norris

It was a busy start to the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of The Americas as Charles Leclerc stormed up three positions, usurping pole-sitter Lando Norris and taking the lead of the race.

Although it looked like Norris had made a strong start, he was immediately challenged by Max Verstappen at Turn 1. Since both championship rivals missed, the Ferrari driver had the perfect opportunity to squeeze through to P1.

With the two Mercedes starting from a position at the back of the field, Lewis Hamilton moved up a few places and started his damage control efforts in an incredibly positive way, but that soon ended abruptly when he was eliminated from the race on lap 2 stranded in the gravel.
