PlayStation Plus unveils first free game of 2025

The first free PlayStation Plus game of 2025 has been revealed. In 2025, PlayStation fans can look forward to Death Stranding 2: On The Beach and Ghost of Yotei. In addition, Marvel’s Wolverine, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Fairgame$ are also unknown and could also appear in 2025. Meanwhile, the most anticipated video game of all time – GTA 6 – will also be released.

2025 will be a busy and expensive year for PS5 gamers. So expensive that any opportunity to save money is undoubtedly welcome. Of course, PlayStation Plus costs money up front, but it offers the opportunity to save a significant amount of money on a variety of games. However, the savings largely disappear if you play games at release.

However, unlike Xbox Game Pass, day one games are not very common on PlayStation Plus. There are some notable PlayStation Plus first day games every year, but not many. However, the first PlayStation Plus game announced for 2025 is a day one PS Plus game.

PS5 players who plan to purchase FBC: Firebreak when it releases in 2025 will be able to play the game for free at launch if they have a PS Plus account. The only catch is that it will be limited to PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium. In other words, it won’t be available through PS Plus Essential, the subscription service’s standard tier. How long it will be available via PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium is also unknown. It’s a limited-time addition, but that’s all we know.

For those unfamiliar with the game, FBC: Firebreak is a cooperative first-person shooter and Control spin-off from Remedy Entertainment, which, in addition to Control, is best known for the Alan Wake series.

“FBC: Firebreak is a cooperative first-person shooter set in a mysterious federal agency under attack by otherworldly forces,” reads an official blurb about the game for those who don’t know about it. “As a years-long siege of the agency’s headquarters reaches a boiling point, only Firebreak – the FBI’s most versatile unit – has the equipment and courage to plunge into the building’s strangest crises, restore order and fight their way back from the brink fight for it.”
