Dolph Ziggler thanks fans for their support as Mr. Money In The Bank in WWE – TJR Wrestling

Dolph Ziggler has thanked fans for his successful 2013 WWE Money In The Bank cash-in.

After securing the coveted briefcase at Money In The Bank 2012, Ziggler experienced frequent defeats for several months before finally collecting his prize on the Raw following WrestleMania 29 on April 8, 2013, defeating Alberto Del Rio to become World Champion was crowned in the heavyweight division.

During a recent appearance on “Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw,” the former six-time WWE Intercontinental Champion reflected on the memorable moment and shared his belief that fan support led to his winning the gold:

“The reason for this reaction and this moment was 100% the fans. For example, back then I was the guy with the briefcase who was always trying to make money – getting kicked in the face or something.

It got to the point where they thought they were either going to take it away from me or, when I wanted to get money out, that I wasn’t going to get it. I would lose the match or something. But the reason why the crowd was so big in advance was because Vince was at the time,

He said, “Listen, I know you’re losing a lot” -[I’m like] About 99% of the time – but he says, “I know you’re losing a lot, and now with this briefcase you’re going to lose even more, and it’s going to be a bigger deal.” But the next day, after you finally cash that in, everything changes.” So we did that, kept it [losing] more and more.”

Dolph Ziggler shocked by incredible crowd reaction

The 44-year-old star went on to reveal that the audience reaction was the loudest he had heard in his career:

“I thought, ‘Man, I hope this crowd is there. They seem kind of lively and fun.’ I’ll never forget my music hit – it had a two second delay – and it’s like a stab all over my body.

I said, ‘Whoa! what’, and I still had to stay focused and be in the moment, go there to do it. But I’ve never heard anything like that in person.”

Ziggler was released by WWE on September 21, 2023, ending a 19-year run with the company. He debuted in TNA Wrestling four months later before finally winning the TNA World Championship at Slammiversary on July 20, 2024.
