Norris was penalized for this incident with Verstappen – a penalty of five seconds.

Norris will drop to fourth behind Verstappen…

Norris’ engineer: “We are of the opinion that you were in front at the apex, both cars outside the track.”

Verstappen: “Lando has exceeded his route limits, so I expect a penalty for that alone, so full throttle.”

Uh. So you can be outside the white lines four times, and Norris was outside the white lines four times. That would be a five second penalty anyway, but McLaren thinks it’s three!

Incident was noted by stewards.

Norris is now 1.4 seconds ahead of Verstappen. If he actually gets a five-second penalty, he will have to be five seconds ahead of Verstappen by the end of the race!

I think Lando might be in trouble…

Lando Norris passes in turn 12, but then Verstappen pushes Norris off the track – but Norris gets back on the track!

What will the stewards decide? McLaren tells Norris they believe he was ahead at the front.

Nevertheless, Norris is in third place for the time being!

Norris is right on Verstappen’s gearbox after turn 12, but Verstappen puts his car in the perfect position to retain third place!

Meanwhile, at the top, Leclerc’s lead over Sainz has shrunk to five seconds.

Norris is now directly behind his F1 title rival, with just 0.5 seconds separating Norris and Verstappen – but the Red Bull is defending steadfastly for now!

Norris will now consider a move to Verstappen – the McLaren is just a second away from the Red Bull.

He’s too far back to move into turn 12…

Russell comes into the pits sixth – serving his five-second penalty – and the Mercedes comes out eighth.

Norris is now within two seconds of Verstappen – that should be interesting! Carlos Sainz sets a new fastest lap…

Lando shortens the gap to Max Verstappen, it is now 3.5 seconds. He should catch him within about 10 laps – and has now set the fastest lap.

Verstappen: “These tires are just not good, I can’t attack, I can’t do anything”

At the front it’s a Ferrari one-two and Leclerc has a lead of 6.9 seconds over Sainz at the front.
