Week from October 21st to 25th

A sunny and calm week is expected at the end of October, illustrating a normal pattern for this time of year. There is high pressure overhead at the start of the work week and it is an area of strong high pressure. That means its influence extends beyond the Carolinas and the southeastern United States

The center of this strong area of high pressure lies over the southern Appalachians and the Tennessee Valley and is expected to have the greatest impact on weather conditions in the Grand Strand and Pee Dee through midweek.

This high pressure area will allow for a slow warming trend this week. Monday will be slightly warmer than Sunday and Tuesday will be slightly warmer than Monday.

Wednesday and Thursday will be the warmest days this week, with more inland communities reaching the low 80s and the mid to upper 70s on the coast.

There will be some clouds around Wednesday, then the sun will return completely on Thursday.

The next cold front will move through the region from Thursday night to Friday. It will be a dry, cold frontal passage, so the temperature change will be the biggest change on the front.

Friday into the weekend will be a little cooler than the midweek warm-up, but another warming trend is emerging after the front.

Conditions will remain dry through the next week, which is normal for this time of year in the Grand Strand and Pee Dee.
