Alleged Pentagon document leak shows Israel preparing to attack Iran

An anonymous pro-Iranian social media account posted something purporting to come from the Pentagon on Friday Documents Details of Israeli preparations for an impending attack on Iran.

The leaked documents were published on the Telegram channel “Middle East Spectator,” described by Axios as an account that “regularly posts pro-Iranian content.”

The documents, marked “TOP SECRET,” described data collected by the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) and noted that the classified information was available to the intelligence agencies of the U.S., Australia, Canada, Britain and New Zealand.

One report is titled: “Israel: The Air Force continues to prepare for an attack on Iran and conducts a second large force exercise on October 15-16, 2024.” It states that the ” Major Operational Exercise” observed tankers and aircraft “representing a similar package to the IAF”. [Israeli Air Force] According to image analysis, it was used for long-range attacks in Yemen on September 29, 2024.”

Another leaked document details the IDF’s “key munitions preparations and covert UAV activities on October 16, almost certainly for an attack on Iran.”

According to Israeli journalist Barak Ravid’s report for Axios, “the leak could be an attempt to disrupt the Israeli operation.”

An anonymous source within the US government told the news agency that the “extremely concerning” alleged leak was unlikely to have any impact on Israel’s plans, however.

Ravid further noted that while “the Pentagon and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence declined to comment on the leaked documents,” they “did not dispute their authenticity.”
