Biltmore Estate will reopen on November 2nd, 5 weeks after Helene

The Biltmore Estate in Asheville has announced a reopening date.

Hurricane Helene struck on September 27, bringing record-breaking rainfall and unprecedented devastation to western North Carolina. Biltmore was closed shortly after the impact due to flooding and property damage in low-lying areas.

The historic landmark will reopen to visitors on November 2nd, in time for the holiday season and the property’s treasured Christmas traditions. This date marks just over five weeks since Helene.

“We are excited to announce that Biltmore plans to reopen starting November 2nd as part of #ChristmasatBiltmore and celebrate the joy of the holiday season together,” it said in a Facebook post.

In a social media post, the property said the Biltmore House, conservatory, winery, gardens and hotels had minimal impact.

In early October, the estate launched the Biltmore Relief Fund for Western North Carolina and pledged $2 million in Helene aid.

Biltmore Village, another major attraction for Asheville, was also heavily damaged.
