Who scored the most power play goals on the ice in Vegas Golden Knights history?

Historically, the Vegas Golden Knights have not had a good power play. The team failed to get players in front of the net to obstruct the goalkeeper’s view. There were also sessions of endless passing, even with big names like Jack Eichel and Jonathan Marchessault on board. There were frustrating moments when unity became the butt of jokes for the fan base.

This season, however, is different: The Golden Knights are tied for fifth place (31.3%) in points through five games. Suddenly the unit looks alive and is being shot at from everywhere. Do you want a goal from a high position? That’s no problem. What about the point? Just put a body in front. Overall, it got off to a good start with Vegas having seven points. Not bad for a historically bad unit that has always been a running joke.

But one player was on the ice for the most power play goals in a single season. This person made his mark in the Golden Knights record books and set the standard for the franchise. However, this particular circumstance means that at least he doesn’t do anything. Who is the mystery man on the ice who scores the most power play goals for Vegas in a single season?

Who do you think was at the top of this category on the Vegas Golden Knights? Did you think of Marc-Andre Fleury, aka the man with? ALL the goalkeeping records? He could grab one here too. However, it’s not Fleury. What about Jack Eichel? No, it’s not him. But there’s a good chance he could break that record if he continues his torrid pace.

Instead, it’s the usual suspect: Jonathan Marchessault. He led the way in goals with 36 last season, surpassing Fleury’s record from the 2018-19 season (32). Eichel also broke that previous record with 33 and surpassed the mark last season. However, his former teammate got the better of the four-time All-Star, sending Eichel into second place.

Fleury (2019-20) tied Logan Thompson (2023-24) for fourth place with 30. He also ranked sixth with 29 in the 2017–18 season. Seventh place is a four-way tie between David Perron (2017-18), Max Pacioretty (2019-20), Shea Theodore (2019-20) and Chandler Stephenson (2022-23) with 28.

It’s good to be present in the more intimate moments of life. This includes witnessing the birth of your child and watching your team win the championship. The Golden Knights know something about the latter and brought a title to Sin City in 2023.
