1 dead, 10 injured after high school party ends in shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA/Gray News) – Police in Indiana are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and 10 others injured.

According to Fort Wayne police, officers responded to the 4900 block of Manistee Drive at Stellhorn Road. Several callers reported hearing gunshots and seeing people running in all directions Saturday evening, the WPTA reports.

When officers arrived on scene, they found one person dead and several other injured people with apparent gunshot wounds.

Police say they know of ten injured victims and believe they are all in non-life-threatening condition. The names and ages of the victims were not released.

According to initial information and witness statements, the shooting occurred during a high school party, according to police. Several partygoers were hit and one was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say at this time they do not know how many suspects were involved in the shooting.
