Well, the four-day event at TPC Summerlin marks almost the end of the 2024 PGA Tour season as only four official events remain after that, namely Zozo Championship, WWT Championship, Butterfield Bermuda Championship and RSM Classic. Of course, the winners don’t just take home the prize money and the trophy. There’s a lot more at stake for the players at the Shriners Children’s Open.

FedEx and OWGR points await the winner

If JT Poston and Doug Ghim maintain their momentum in the remaining game, one of the two will surely be declared the winner of the 2024 edition of the Las Vegas event. The winner is eligible for an additional 500 FedEx Cup Fall Points, just like all other fall events. At the end of the fall season, the top 125 ranked players after the eighth event will receive full status through 2025, while players 126-150 will receive conditional status.

That’s not all. You also receive a whopping 35.3 points towards the official world golf rankings. These valuable points will surely make a significant difference in their OWGR rank. Apart from the points, there are exemptions for the winner. The winner receives direct access to the two signature events AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and Genesis Invitational.

Do you think Poston and Ghim will be the winner? Or will a new name emerge at the end of Sunday’s round? Stay tuned to find out what happens!
