As the ongoing crisis in the Middle East continues to deepen, reports are emerging that the United States is currently investigating an unauthorized release of classified documents focused on Israel’s plans to attack Iran. A fourth official told news outlets that the documents shared online “appear to be legitimate.” The leaked documents are attributed to the US Geospatial Intelligence Agency and the National Security Agency and explain how Israel plans to move military assets to carry out an attack against Iran.

The plans mentioned that the Israeli attacks would be carried out in retaliation for Iran’s devastating missile attack on October 1 this year. Interestingly, the documents could also be shared within “Five Eyes”, a coalition between the USA, Canada, Great Britain, New Zealand and Australia.

The documents, classified top secret, were published online on Telegram and the leak was first reported by CNN And Axios. The current investigation will now examine how the plans were obtained and whether or not there was a deliberate disclosure. sources told The Associated Press that officials are working to find out who had access to the plans before they were shared online.

It is important to note that the documents come at a time when the US is pushing for a ceasefire in the ongoing conflict following the death of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.
