Jay Cutler arrested for drunk driving

Former pro quarterback and Hoosier native Jay Cutler was arrested in Tennessee on Thursday after police said he was caught driving under the influence – with a gun.

The retired athlete now faces four charges, including implied consent and failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision. After his arrest, he was released on $5,000 bail.

Cutler, originally from Santa Claus, Indiana, played 12 seasons in the NFL for the Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos.

It has been the subject of some investigation in recent years.

His ex-wife Kristin Cavallari called their relationship “toxic,” and rumors circulated online that he was unfaithful during their marriage. However, he said the cheating rumors were false.
