Four gauchos swim 5 km in open water

LONG BEACH, California. – Four UC Santa Barbara swimmers competed in the MPSF Open Water Championships. The Gauchos saw three male swimmers compete in the 5K race. Enya Linson was the only representative of the women’s team at the same event.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Kyle Brill He placed fifth out of 20 swimmers with a time of 1:01:28.00. Connor Martilla was right behind him in sixth place (1:03:07.00). Owen Berry rounded out the Blue and Gold race in tenth place with a speed of 1:06:13.00.

A total of 45 swimmers took part in the women’s 5 km race. Enya Linson took eighth place in a crowded field of participants (1:08:35.00).

“The MPSF Open Water Championships provided a great opportunity for Enya, Kyle, Connor and Owen to experience a different type of racing and competition,” said Rosen. “The conditions were ideal and although there were some difficult moments, everyone swam quickly and remained competitive in the top groups.”

UC Santa Barbara Swim is taking a short break from swimming until November 16th. The men face UC San Diego while the women face Pepperdine and the Tritons. Both the men and women will travel to Malibu, California.
