Church holds an open day in the new building three years after the fire

LAKE CITY, Ark. (KAIT) – A community that has been housed in temporary locations for the past three years now has a new home.

On Saturday, October 19th, the Revived Church of God in Lake City held an open house for people in their new building. On Easter Sunday in April 2021, the previous building caught fire.

Church priest Holly Gallopoo said the fire was an accident.

“I got a call from the fire department, it wasn’t anything we did, it was an accident. “Someone burned some stuff and the victory carried over to our building,” she said.

They used another building in Lake City for about two years and sometimes even held services outside.

“We found this building, it was for sale and God blessed us and now we’re in it,” Gallopoo said.

The priest wants people to know that they are here to stay.

“We have already started holding services for the people we already had. “This is just a welcome to let everyone know we’re here,” Gallopoo said.
