Rajasthan Special Operations Group arrests 28 people in 2023 paper leak case – ThePrint – PTIFeed

Jaipur, Oct 19 (PTI) The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police on Saturday conducted simultaneous raids at multiple locations in seven districts of the state and arrested 28 people, including five women, in a paper leak case.

The SOG teams conducted raids in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Sikar, Bikaner, Churu, Nagaur and Hanumangarh districts. More than half a dozen government employees were among those arrested, said ADG ATS and SOG VK Singh.

The action was taken in connection with irregularities in the 2022 competitive exam for Grade II and Management IV (Local Self-Government Department) tax officers conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) on May 14 last year.

The RPSC had released a list of candidates who had passed the written examination and conducted aptitude tests of the candidates through counseling from December 11 to 13, 2023. The RPSC noted some serious observations following which the suspected candidates were asked for re-examination.

It was found that six candidates from the same village – Khajwana in Nagaur district – were on the list and did not have knowledge or information of a general nature. The RPSC then prepared a confidential report and sent it to the SOG for investigation.

ADG SOG took the matter seriously and formed a team to conduct technical analysis and field reviews of the Commission’s report and obtain confidential information about the alleged paper leak gang.

The investigation report revealed that one Tulcharam Kaler and his other associates jointly obtained the paper before the exam and made the candidates cheat through Bluetooth.

“Today, a total of 28 suspects were arrested in this case, including 12 candidates involved in the paper leakage and Bluetooth usage conspiracy,” he said.

Among those arrested is Bhavna Goswami, the wife of Bluetooth gang boss Tulcharam Kaler’s nephew.

“As part of the initial investigations against the arrested suspects, facts about irregularities in other recruitment tests also came to light. More than half a dozen suspects are government employees. A special team has been formed to investigate the case,” he added. PTI SDA KSS KSS
