Live college football scores, games, updates: Alabama at Tennessee, Michigan at Illinois and more

Week 8 is a big week for the SEC.

Saturday features two games between top-11 opponents and could go a long way in deciding who plays for the conference title in Atlanta in December. Of the four, only No. 1 Texas is undefeated. No. 5 Georgia, No. 7 Alabama and No. 11 Tennessee each have a loss.

But there is also a lot to watch outside of the SEC.

Here are the games we’ll be watching closely on Saturday night.

Time: 7 p.m. | TV: ESPN | Line: LSU -3 | Overall: 55.5

This three-point line is no coincidence. The last four games of this series were decided by exactly three points. The Razorbacks are playing their third straight opponent after losing to Texas A&M and beating Tennessee. LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier had his toughest game of the season in the Tigers’ OT win over Ole Miss in Week 7, but it was still a win thanks to the Tigers’ defense.

Time: 7:30 p.m. | TV: ABC | Line: Texas -4.5 | Overall: 55.5

Georgia’s second big road test of the season is the most important game of the weekend. The top-ranked Longhorns earned a blowout win over Oklahoma in Quinn Ewers’ first start since Week 3. It’s not an exaggeration to say that Georgia needs Carson Beck’s best game of the season to get the win. Ewers became more comfortable as the Oklahoma game progressed, but Texas’ biggest strength was its running game.

  • Halftime: Alabama 7, Tennessee 0

Late in the first half, the Tide had worked their way past midfield and attempted a 54-yarder from Graham Nicholson that missed the target.

It’s the Vols’ third straight scoreless first half – the first since 1963.

  • Touchdown Colorado

The Buffaloes are in the end zone after all those turnovers with a short scramble by Shedeur Sanders.

    It’s 28-7 Colorado.

  • Sales Festival in Tucson

Three ball losses in five games! First, Shedeur Sanders doesn’t understand the snap and Arizona comes up with the idea. Then Noah Fifita fumbles it while being tackled and Colorado falls on it. Then Shedeur Sanders is picked up.

  • Alabama interception!

Now it’s Nico Iamaleava who makes a rash throw that results in an interception. Another big mistake from a Vols quarterback.

  • Touchdown Colorado

Shedeur Sanders has his second touchdown pass of the day. This goes to Will Sheppard, who makes the one-handed grab down the sideline to give Colorado a 21-7 lead.

  • However, the Crimson Tide can’t do anything with the resulting possession, so Vols Ball is at their own 20 points.

Nico Iamaleava is back on the field after the injury scare.

  • Alabama interception!

On the very next play, Tennessee backup Gaston Moore threw an ill-advised ball downfield, and Malachi Moore intercepted it and returned it 41 yards.

  • Nico Iamaleava injured

The Tennessee quarterback was thrown awkwardly to the ground after this hit and went into the medical tent.

  • Meanwhile, Illinois took command early in its Big Ten showdown with Michigan. After two early field goals, Luke Altmyer meets Tanner Arkin in the corner of the end zone to tie the score.

  • touchdown Alabama!

Who else but the star rookie looking to start things off in Knoxville? After a scoreless first quarter, Alabama drives downfield and scores the game’s first touchdown on a pass from Jalen Milroe to Ryan Williams.

  • Touchdown Colorado

Shedeur Sanders has his first touchdown pass of the day and connects with Delon Miller for a short score.

  • Volumes miss FG

The Vols can’t do anything with that field position, however, as Max Gilbert’s 52-yard attempt sails right. We’re still scoreless in Knoxville.

  • Intercept Tennessee!

The Crimson Tide were inside the Vols’ 3-yard line when Jalen Milroe made a poor decision throwing to Jermod McCoy, who returned the ball 54 yards, putting Tennessee in excellent field position.
