US Information on Israeli Military Plans for Iran Leaked by Biden-Harris Admin: Report

Senior US officials are concerned about a possible mole within the intelligence community after top-secret documents were published on pro-Iranian social media accounts that purported to show what US spy satellites discovered in Israel as the country braced for attack Iran prepared.

A pro-Iranian Telegram account published US intelligence documents about Israel’s alleged preparations for its three-week-planned attack on Iran.

Axios reported:

If the report is true, it would indicate that U.S. intelligence is monitoring Israel’s preparations for an attack on Iran very closely and in detail, including the use of satellites to spy on operations at Israeli Air Force bases.

According to the report, the leak could be an attempt to disrupt the upcoming strike.

The Defense Department and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence did not dispute the authenticity of the documents, the report said.

The documents showed a purported summary of what U.S. spy satellites observed earlier in the week that the Israeli military was doing in preparation for the operation, the report said.

Satellites captured Israeli Air Force (IAF) movements, including moving aircraft, prepared munitions and “a major exercise” it conducted this week in preparation for the attack.

Officials are “extremely concerned[ed]The report said it appeared to be a “very serious security breach within the U.S. intelligence community.”

Senior Israeli officials said they were aware of the development and were taking the matter “very seriously.”

The development comes after a suspected Iranian spy ring was dismantled within the Biden-Harris administration last year.

Republican congressional leaders revealed earlier this year that the Biden-Harris administration’s special envoy to Iran, which is under federal criminal investigation, allegedly transferred classified material to his personal email address and cell phone, which were subsequently sent by stolen from a hostile foreign actor.

The revelation about Robert Malley, Biden’s now-suspended special envoy to Iran, comes after a report published last October in Tablet Magazine said he was linked to an “Iranian spy ring” aimed at changing U.S. policy in favor of Islamic ones to change nation.

The FBI’s criminal investigation into Malley’s handling of classified materials came to light last summer after he was placed on unpaid leave by the State Department.

Senate Foreign Relations Committee member James Risch (R-ID) and House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) wrote a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken this week expressing their frustration expressed about the Department’s “lack of responsiveness to our requests for information necessary to conduct appropriate oversight.”

Included in delivery letter was the following revelation:

Specifically, we understand that Mr. Malley’s security clearance was suspended because he allegedly transferred confidential documents to his personal email account and downloaded those documents to his personal cell phone. It is unclear who he intended to provide these documents to, but it is believed that a hostile cyber actor was able to gain access to his email and/or phone and obtain the downloaded information.

Malley was accused in the Tablet report of sponsoring several agents of the alleged Iranian spy ring, including helping a suspected Iranian activist named Ariane Tabatabai penetrate “some of the most sensitive positions in the U.S. government,” including at the State Department and at the US State Department Pentagon.

The operation began in 2014 when Iran launched the Iran Experts Initiative (IEI), a propaganda and influence operation that recruited top talent from Iranians living abroad to help Iran reach a favorable nuclear deal. The group reported to an official from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), a terrorist organization, and then-Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif was also reportedly involved.

The report, headlined “High-Level Iranian Spy Ring Busted in Washington,” said:

The content of the emails is devastating. It shows how a group of Iranian-American academics are recruited by the Iranian regime, meet abroad to receive instructions from top regime officials, and pledge their personal loyalty to the regime. They also show how these activists used their Iranian heritage and Western academic positions to influence U.S. policy toward Iran, first as outside “experts” and then from high-level U.S. government positions. Both inside and outside of government, the efforts of members of this circle have been repeatedly supported and encouraged by Malley, who served as the U.S. government’s primary interlocutor with Iran under both the Obama and Biden administrations. Malley is also the former head of the International Crisis Group (ICG), which directly paid and accredited several key members of the regime’s influence operation.

Retired CIA analyst Peter Theroux, who worked for the agency for 25 years, told the medium: “I know what a spy network looks like.”

“This is how recruits talk to their leaders,” he said. “There’s a lot of atmospheric music in this correspondence that says, ‘Let me know what you want me to collect.’ It seems clear who the subordinate is here – what you would call task-responsive.”

Theroux pointed out that for someone like Tabatabai to receive even the most basic security clearance from the U.S. government, he would have to be so thoroughly investigated that it was impossible that the Biden administration did not know about his ties to Iran.

“The hurdles you have to overcome to get top secret clearance without departments or special access programs are enormous,” he said. “They tell you about your foreign contacts. Contacts with a foreign government raise more red flags than Bernie Sanders’ honeymoon. Contacts with high-ranking officials of hostile governments classified as non-fraternal governments such as Russia, China, Cuba and Iran fall into a completely different category – which would normally mean a total disqualification.”

McCaul suggested last summer that Malley may have committed treason.
