The historic Biltmore Estate announces plans to reopen closer to the holiday season

ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) – The historic Biltmore Estate has announced its plan to reopen November 2nd after closing for repair damage after Helene.

Biltmore officials announced back on Sept. 29 that the property would be closing after the area suffered significant flooding and many roads were deemed impassable.

On Saturday, the property reported on Facebook that it plans to reopen Nov. 2 to begin the season Christmas at Biltmore.

The annual holiday event runs through January and covers the property with holiday decorations from wreaths to garlands, as well as thousands of ornaments.

Biltmore employees said this on Facebook: “For more than 125 years, Biltmore has stood as a witness to the resilience of this community. Our region’s compassion and resolve grows every day under the weight of this storm. Thanks to the incredible work of so many generous people, recovery is happening all around us.”

Biltmore staff also said, “Welcoming guests back to the property is an important support to our community, and we hope to welcome you soon.”
