One is charged with murder and obstruction of justice in Amite | Crime/Police

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man who allegedly shot and killed two people in Amite over the summer, authorities say.

Ryan Snow, 21, was charged Friday with two counts of first-degree murder and obstruction of justice in the July 23 fatal shootings of Chrissy Jenkins and Christopher Hedgewood.

According to authorities, the two were shot around 5 a.m. inside their mobile home in the 600 block of MLK Street. The sheriff’s office did not provide any information about a possible motive.

Tangipahoa investigators recently made a breakthrough with forensic evidence that helped them identify Snow as at least one suspect in the case. He was arrested on October 18, but investigators did not say what exactly led them to Snow.

“I am incredibly proud of our criminal investigation team for their continued commitment to this case,” said Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Gerald Sticker. “While we are pleased to provide some measure of justice for these victims and their families, so is the work.” This has not happened and our detectives will ensure that full justice is served through our court system. “
