Headwaters Music and Arts offers a free initial music education initiative

BEMIDJI – Headwaters Music and Arts has announced a free initial music instruction initiative for new students in most instruments, including piano, guitar, vocals, drums, violin, cello and band instruments.

The free lessons, combined with financial support for all ages, including adults, ensures music lessons are accessible to everyone, regardless of income or age, a news release said.

“Increased access to the arts strengthens community connections and promotes lifelong learning and creativity,” the release said. “A free first lesson benefits families and individuals who may be hesitant to invest in lessons for financial reasons, and opens doors for people who might not otherwise have a chance to discover their musical talents.”

Our newsroom sometimes reports under the headline “Pioneer Staff Report.” This byline is used when reporters paraphrase basic short messages that come from official sources, such as an email or a press release that requires little or no reporting.

In other cases, this byline is used when a news story includes many authors or when the story is created by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, this will be noted in the story.
