What do you think about the release of a new American Psycho film?

Nearly 25 years after the first film hit theaters, Lionsgate recently announced that they are moving forward with a new adaptation of The Movie American Psycho with Luca Guadagnino in final negotiations to direct. Even though the Christian Bale-directed original remains one of my favorite productions of his and elements from Bret Easton Ellis’ novel didn’t make it into the film, I wonder if it’s not too late to revisit the novel adapt. The original film was released a little over a decade late, but still felt quite contemporary with its examination of the yuppie culture of the 80s, which actually doesn’t exist anymore. Even if Guadagnino would set his own American Psycho By the 1980s there was a risk that his efforts to differentiate the film from the previous adaptation would be ruined.
