Marie Höbinger on team spirit, free kick drills and Smith quality

On developing a good understanding on the field with Smith so far…

She’s a lot of fun to play with, she’s so strong and dangerous that we can isolate her on the wing and she can cause problems in defense. We’ve played a few games together on the right now and I hope we can build on that.

Sunday’s meeting with Palace at St Helens Stadium…

It’s great to be back at St Helens, our last game before the international break. We want to control the game and hopefully get the three points. The stadium is fantastic, the atmosphere is great and the fans seem very happy with it too. The pitch is great, the support we are getting is great and we are really enjoying our new home ground.

What a big contribution the fans can make to help the team get over the finish line on Sunday…

One hundred percent, especially in the second half and towards the end of the game, that’s the most important part of getting the momentum right. You can definitely help us like you always do.

About acclimating new players and making it an exciting team to play on…

Kappy [Cornelia Kapocs] is also great and I think we have a lot of dangers in attack, especially on the counterattack. So for me it’s really nice because they do great runs and I love playing with them.

On her stunning free-kick in the recent win at Tottenham…

I think it was special because we took the lead from it too. At that moment I just wanted to give something back to the team for their performance that day, everyone was 100 percent determined to give us the win. It was great to score that goal because it gave so much to the team.
