ZA leak reveals scarlet and purple connection

A new Pokemon Legends: ZA leak has revealed a connection to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet that some Pokemon fans weren’t expecting. Although it was not well received by critics and Pokemon fans on Nintendo Switch are divided, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are the fastest-selling games in Nintendo history and are among the best-selling Pokemon games of all time. For this reason, we suspect that Gen 10, the next mainline Pokémon games, won’t stray far from the Scarlet and Violet formula. Meanwhile, even the spin-off game Pokemon Legends: ZA may be similar in some ways.

Pokemon Legends: ZA – which may be coming sooner rather than later – is a sequel to 2022’s Pokemon Legends: Arceus, which changed the Pokemon formula to attract new fans to the series, particularly the core gamer audience to Game Freak. To that end, Pokemon Legends: ZA will likely just be Pokemon Legends: Arceus with new features and ideas. However, its art style will apparently be similar to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Over on social media platform X, well-known Pokemon leaker Riddler Khu recently posted a teaser for Pokemon Legends: ZA. More specifically, the leaker posted this: “Well, Ikkaku’s art style is similar to Titan.”

What does that mean? Well, Ikkaku is the codename for Pokemon Legends: ZA. Meanwhile, Titan was one of the two codenames for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Knowing this makes the tease much more direct.

However, remember to take what’s here with a grain of salt. While the source in question is usually reliable, this is merely a rumor/leak. In other words, this is not official news. It’s unclear whether this information is based on insider sources or a look at the game’s early builds, which were reportedly obtained in the recent Game Freak hack.

At the time of publication, neither Game Freak nor Nintendo have commented on this particular rumor. We do not expect this to change for several reasons.
