Hearts 4-0 St Mirren: Analysis

A Stephen Robinson St Mirren side is usually considered to be defensively strong and capable of creating a few clear chances in every game.

They have now lost seven of their last ten games in all competitions and are routinely punished when they fall behind early.

They have failed to win any of their last seven games when conceding the first goal in the Premier League and have now conceded three goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half, more than any other top team this season.

Additionally, they have conceded nine first-half goals in nine games, no team has conceded more goals this Premiership season.

While these statistics suggest a loss of concentration on defense, their attacking players are not helping them at the other end of the pitch.

They have now failed to score in three of their nine league games and, perhaps most alarmingly, failed to register a shot on target at Tynecastle.
