Nebraska football wears all white at No. 16 Indiana

Depending on how old you are, you’re either very excited or scared about Nebraska’s uniform choice in Bloomington.

The Huskers wear all white at No. 16 Indiana – white tops, white pants and white shoes.

Younger generations tend to advocate monochromatic uniforms, such as exclusively using shades of red for recruits. This also applies to Nebraska’s performance in Bloomington.

However, older generations have dubbed the look “Surrender Whites.” Part of that sentiment comes from the 1992 game at Iowa State, which defeated No. 7 Nebraska 19-10.

The Huskers have ranged in age from 7 to 14 since 1970 and wear all-white uniforms. The last time NU wore the white jersey combination was against Buffalo in 2021, although it was an alternate jersey, and the last time they wore the all-white jerseys was at the 2016 Music City Bowl.

Only two coaches in Nebraska history have a winning record with the All Whites. They are Bo Pelini (2-1) and Scott Frost (1-0). Tom Osborne (1-3), Bill Callahan (0-1), Barney Cotton (0-1) and Mike Riley (2-3) all posted losing records in the non-red jersey combination.

An 11 a.m. CDT kickoff is scheduled for Nebraska and Indiana. The game will be televised on FOX. The Huskers Radio Network provides radio coverage throughout the state.
