Pinellas man charged with involuntary manslaughter in motorcyclist’s fatal crash

A Pinellas Park man is facing charges including involuntary manslaughter while under the influence of alcohol after a crash Friday evening that killed a motorcyclist and injured her young passenger, police said.

According to the Officers with the Pinellas Park Police Department responded to the scene of a serious accident involving a motorcycle and a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck on the 8200 block of US 19 N around 8:30 p.m

Enerildo Lopez Rojas, 56, of Pinellas Park, was driving the Tacoma south on the highway. Consuelo Serralde was riding north on a Kawasaki motorcycle with a passenger, a 9-year-old girl. Rojas then turned left into the path of the motorcycle, causing the motorcycle to crash into the passenger side of the truck.

Serralde was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her young passenger was in a serious but stable condition Saturday morning.

Rojas was booked into the Pinellas County Jail early Saturday morning. He faces charges of involuntary manslaughter while under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol causing serious bodily injury, jail records show.
