Less than a month since Hurricane Helene, grocery stores in Western North Carolina have reopened during the recovery period.

However, some stores remain closed due to the damage caused by Helene and may not reopen this year.

Here are the businesses that remain closed in Western North Carolina:

English markets

England’s markets have mostly reopened, but these four remain closed and there is no timetable for reopening:

Harris Teeter

Harris Teeter at Southside Square in Hendersonville remains closed. The store could remain closed for six to nine months.

Trader Joe’s

Trader Joe’s in Asheville, 120 Merrimon Ave., is open on a modified schedule from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m

Whole Foods

All three Whole Foods locations in and around Asheville will be open on a modified schedule from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m
