Voting for the Dream Big Staff Choice Award remains open until Sunday – Muddy River News

QUINCY – The Quincy Public Schools Foundation is asking the public for help in making decisions
this year’s winner of the Dream Big Staff Choice Award. The prize is being awarded for the fourth time
designed to recognize the extraordinary efforts of Quincy Public Schools
Educators.

All Quincy Public School District 172 teachers and staff were asked to nominate a colleague
recognition of this award. Those with the most nominations in each of the 11th
The school locations will now move on to community voting to decide on this year’s Dream Big Staff
Election winner.

Candidates for the award are:

• Donna Bichsel, educator at the Early Childhood and Family Center;
• Caprice Alexandre, fifth grade teacher at Baldwin Elementary School;
• Kyle Koenig, Cross Cat teacher at Denman Elementary School;
• Brad Funkenbusch, principal of Iles Elementary School;
• Amber Holtschlag, fifth grade teacher at Lincoln-Douglas Elementary School;
• Jenna VaLeu, student family liaison at Rooney Elementary School;
• Christopher Turner, family liaison at Quincy Junior High School;
• Jenni Moran, SPED teacher at Quincy High School;
• Sarah Brigman, social worker at The Academy;
• Andrea Nicholson, culinary arts teacher at QAVTC;
• Teresa Kemp, benefits coordinator in the Board of Education Office.

Voting is open until Sunday, October 20th at 11:59 p.m. To vote, visit the QPS Foundation website, qpsfoundation.org, or go to The winner will be announced at the grand Night to Dream gala scheduled for Friday, November 20th. 1, at the Oakley-Lindsay Center in Quincy.

Tickets for the big gala “Night to Dream” are on sale now. Ticket price is $80 per person and $550 for a table of eight. A link to purchase tickets can be found at qpsfoundation.org. Tickets can be purchased by calling the foundation office at 217-228-7112.

Gifts for the Dream Big campaign should be made to the QPS Foundation and can be mailed to the Quincy High School Foundation office or online at qpsfoundation.org.
