EA Sports College Football 25 predicts Texas A&M at Mississippi State

As the season progresses, EA Sports College Football 25 continues to predict the results of Mississippi State football games. Last week, EA got Georgia’s score almost right, but Mississippi State exceeded the game’s expectations of them in real life. So who does EA think will win this crucial matchup between the Aggies and the Bulldogs?

In a low-scoring affair, the Aggies prevailed 16-10. The first quarter ended with Mississippi State taking a 3-0 lead thanks to a 34-yard field goal from Kyle Ferrie. Mississippi State led for most of the second quarter before Texas A&M exploded with 13 points in the final two minutes. Randy Bond tied the game with 1:51 left and Le’Veon Moss gave the Aggies the lead on a 1-yard touchdown run. As time expired in the first half, Bond delivered again with another field goal.

Texas A&M added three more points in the third quarter to extend its lead to 13. Early in the fourth quarter, Michael Van Buren connected with Mario Craver for a 2-yard passing touchdown. At this point it looked like the Bulldogs were on the verge of a comeback, but it was too late as they couldn’t score any more points. The Aggies held strong on defense and came away with the win.

Both teams struggled offensively, as State gained 210 total yards of offense while Texas A&M gained 190 yards. State had some passing success as Michael Van Buren completed 13/20 passes for 182 yards and a touchdown. However, Texas A&M dominated the ground game and time of possession. Texas A&M gained 77 yards rushing on 26 attempts, with Moss scoring 67 of those yards with a touchdown. They retained possession of the ball for three minutes longer and only committed one penalty. The game was ultimately won in the turnover battle. Texas A&M didn’t turn the ball over once, while Mississippi State lost two fumbles.

In an all-around terrible simulation game, there were only two bright spots for the Bulldogs other than Van Buren’s play at quarterback. Kelly Akharaiyi caught four passes for 64 yards and Kevin Coleman added 31 more yards on two receptions. If State wants to pull off an upset on Saturday, these two will have to play their best game of the season. The other bright spot was defense, where Donterry Russell and De’monte Russell had two tackles for loss. The simulations so far this season have accurately portrayed State’s defense this season, but they will need to play better on Saturday to give themselves a chance to pull off the upset.
