Good morning! At Border Country Sports Report, I’m Keith Harrington.

The Golden Horde falls victim to the Cougars

Granville concluded its 2024 boys soccer season with a 4-1 loss to North Warren in an Adirondack League crossover game. The Cougars scored two goals in each half to secure the win.

George Hilton scored two goals and added an assist for North Warren. Coleman Swartz and Giovanni Maron also found the net for the Cougars.

Swartz added two assists. James Conway also had a helper.

Michael Whitney scored a goal for the Golden Horde, assisted by Matt Ruigrok.

Hunter Conger recorded seven saves for the Cougars. Matthew Vladyka stopped eight shots for the Golden Horde.

Hartford and Argyle draw again

There’s just something special about this year’s Hartford and Argyle football teams. They’re as even as it gets. The Tanagers and Scots played to a 0-0 draw for the third time this season on Friday in an Adirondack League crossover game.

Hartford earned a 2-0 win in the series in the annual Milk Jug game earlier in the season. Argyle failed to score in four attempts against the Tanagers.

Argyle defeated Hartford 8-3 in that game.

Damon Duhame stopped eight of the Tanagers’ shots on goal. Connor Quist had six saves for the Scots.

Fort Ann edges Lakers in OT

Fort Ann and Lake George played their third overtime game of the year, this time the Cardinals won 3-2 in an Adirondack League youth soccer first game.

Kadynce Cutter scored the winning goal for Fort Ann in the extra session.

Gavin Lehoisky and David Shewczyk also scored for the Cardinals.

Thomas Kohls and Nolan Stannard scored goals for the Lakers.

Hunter Wade had seven saves for Fort Ann. Marty Farrell stopped four shots for Lake George.

Fort Ann is now 6-3, 9-6-1. Lake George is 3-4-2, 4-10-2.
