Why Genshin Impact’s new 5.2 leak is bad news for fans of a character

Current leaks claim this Genshin ImpactThe 5.2 update will not include rerolls for Shenhe, a 5-star Cryo Polearm user. If true, this would mean that Shenhe currently has the longest wait time for a re-banner among all other 5-star characters Genshin Impactwhich is a particularly long list.

In total, Genshin Impact has neglected Cryo characters in recent updates as very few Cryo characters received replay banners in recent updates and there was also a lack of new Cryo characters. Not only is this leak bad news for players who want to add Shenhe to their roster or get Constellation upgrades for her, but it’s also a problem for players who want to add more Cryo characters to their party in general.

Ahead of the official reveal, there have already been numerous notable leaks and rumors about Genshin Impact’s upcoming version 5.2 update.

A repeat of Shenhe in Genshin Impact is long overdue

Shenhe’s last appearance in the Event Wish Banner was over a year ago Genshin Impactis the 3.5 update, which is currently the longest wait for a 5-star character to replay. Since some of the latest leaks already claim that Shenhe will not be included in the 5.2 or 5.3 Event Wish banners, players may have to wait for at least two more updates before a Shenhe replay banner appears.

That’s what the latest leaks claim
Genshin Impact
The 5.2 Event Wish Banners could feature Chasca and Lyney in phase one and then Zhongli and Neuvilette in phase two.

Genshin ImpactThe replay waitlist has always been a concern, as some of the most popular or meta characters have often been more than a year since their last appearance in the Event Wish banner. However, a new trend is emerging Genshin Impactis the character waiting list that has put players in a particularly difficult position. Not only did Shenhe go an excessively long time without repeating, but also Genshin Impact‘s Event Wish banners are currently experiencing a general drought of Cryo characters, leaving players with little to no opportunity to expand their roster of Cryo characters.

Genshin Impact should end the drought of Cryo characters sooner rather than later

It is believed that Snezhnaya is the region of cryo, which could potentially lead to this Genshin ImpactThe drought of Cryo characters is over. However, since the updates for the Natlan region are still in progress, it will take a while before the updates for the Snezhnaya region are released. Even then, there’s no guarantee that Snezhnaya updates will add multiple Cryo characters to the roster, considering that the Natlan region updates haven’t introduced playable Pyro characters yet. Consequently, Genshin Impact should consider solving this issue in time for the Snezhnaya updates by introducing new Cryo characters soon.

Speaking of leaks from Genshin ImpactUpdate 5.3 claims that Citlali, a new 5-star Cryo character, will appear in the event wish banners. While it remains to be seen how Citlali compares to the current meta for Cryo characters, adding new Cryo characters would still go a long way toward improving Genshin ImpactThe drought of Cryo characters is over.

Additionally, some leaks claim that certain elemental reactions could receive buffs Genshin ImpactThe 5.2 update notably includes the Cryo Freeze and Shatter Elemental reactions. These improvements may not be enough to finally make some of the disappointing Cryo characters able to compete with the current Cryo character meta, but they will still provide a well-deserved improvement to all Cryo characters.

Ultimately, the wait for Shenhe’s repeat banner is over Genshin Impact will probably last through at least one more update, possibly longer. However, with the expected release of Citlali, a new 5-star Cryo character in Update 5.3, and improvements to Cryo Elemental Reactions in Update 5.2, this may not be an end Genshin ImpactThere’s either a drought of Cryo characters or a reprise of one of the fan-favorite Cryo characters, but these could still be steps in the right direction.
