PGA Tour Pro five-putts at Shriners Children's Open

On Friday morning, the Shriners Children’s Open event was delayed due to wind, and when play finally began, chaos reigned as 50 mph gusts ripped through TPC Summerlin.

It’s safe to say the conditions were difficult, and in Joseph Bramlett’s case, it was the American who was first to five-putt from 10 feet away on the par 4!

After shooting a seven-under 64 on Thursday, Bramlett was just three points behind Taylor Pendrith, who shot a superb 10-under-par 61 round that was en route to the magical 59 at one point.

On Friday, Bramlett returned to the course and was first on the back nine to tee off a respectable one-over-par 37. Since he was now playing on the front nine, his approach to the front nine ended just 10 feet from the flag, but from there it took him five shots to get into the hole!

His first putt missed the left side, the next grazed the right edge before sending it flying back several feet. From there, Bramlett missed the ball on the same side, his fourth putt going almost horseshoe-shaped and ending up on the edge. He ended up making a triple bogey seven, even though birdie was on the cards.

After his five-putt, the 36-year-old made a birdie on the next hole, two bogeys and another birdie gave him a four-over 75 score, 11 shots worse than the day before.

The weather on Friday was so bad that fans were not allowed into the venue as there was a four-hour delay in Las Vegas. Combined with the delay, there was a significant difference in scoring from day one to day two. In round one the 18-hole stroke average was 68.779 and in round two it was 71.630.

After his round, Greyson Sigg, who shot a two-under 69, stated, “I’m happy to be in the clubhouse now. Some guys gave me grief as I walked through the putting green. “Why didn’t you all play this morning?” I said, “You’re going to have a nice afternoon out there.” You’re all going to enjoy it. I’m really excited to go home and rest.”
