Sacramento Kings sign son of NBA legend

Earlier this week, the Sacramento Kings played their final preseason game when they took on the Los Angeles Clippers.

They lost by a score of 113-91 and finished the preseason with a record of 0-5.

On Friday, the team announced several roster changes.

One of them was the signing of Shareef O’Neal (son of NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal).

Via Kevin John of ABC10: β€œThe Kings officially announce that they have waived Boogie Ellis, Skal Labissiere, Terry Taylor and Brodric Thomas.

The Kings have signed Antione Davis, Drew Timme and Shareef O’Neal, all of whom will be with the Stockton Kings.

FOX40 News’ Sean Cunningham also showed video of O’Neal practicing with the Kings on Friday.

About Cunningham: “Today’s inside look at Kings practice in Sacramento shows Doug McDermott adjusting to his new team, Shareef O’Neal attending practice and Skal Labissiere in practice before being released shortly after.”

Although O’Neal will begin the season with the Stockton Kings (G League), he could be a good candidate for a two-way contract (or 10-day contract) this year.

The former UCLA and LSU forward played for G League Ignite during the 2022-23 season.

He averaged 5.6 points and 3.1 rebounds per game while shooting 53.2% from the field in 20 regular season games.

The Kings will play their first game of the 2024-25 regular season on October 24 when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves in Sacramento.

Last season, they missed the NBA playoffs after losing to the New Orleans Pelicans in the play-in tournament.
