What are we all playing this weekend?

This weekend is the last chance to get your hands into the giant plastic tub of loose Lego that is Steam Next Fest, until the next festival in February or so. We’ve compared all of our demo recommendations with those from Eurogamer and VG247 in the Wishlist Hub, so there’s no shortage of approved testers to compare notes with.

What we’re playing this weekend, well…

I like the idea of ​​diving back into Hades 2 after the big recent update. But realistically I’ll just crash my car into a random German person online at Wreckfest.

Ed
It took me far too long, but I discovered the wonders of Steam Remote Play. So I think I’ll be doing more remote gaming, either with some LAD: Infinite Wealth (yes, I’m still playing that game somehow) or delving into a secret new game that’s up for review.

I just got to grips with the Deadlock Alpha playtest preview this week. Having played Dota 2 in its prime, I think I’m more inclined towards the MOBA elements than Brendy, and I’m enjoying it so far as a competent third-person lane pusher. But does it have that pop, that sparkle, that? I don’t know what I need that makes a Valve game a Valve game? I’m not saying no, but I need more convincing.

I probably won’t be playing many games this weekend, although I will be heading to a pumpkin patch on Sunday for some real Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon-esque shenanigans, so I guess that’s close enough? On my list of games to play when I get the chance is The Crimson Diamond, which Alice B (RPS in Peace) really liked and will be a nice change from all the Soulslikes that fill my life have dominated recently.

This weekend I’m going to play secret things in secret. Otherwise I still have a Warspawned Kroxigor to finish. I chose a jungle theme, almost like poison dart frogs with bright green, blue and orange accent details. I recently joined Spearhead and would love to run a Seraphon host and most likely get smashed in the process.
