Swimming and diving round out the first day of the Texas A&M Tri-Meet

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – TCU Swim and Dive opened its season Friday afternoon at the Texas A&M Tri-Meet with the Aggies and BYU. The first day of the two-day meet was highlighted by three top-three finishes Geremia Freria race win by Olivia Rhodes and a top-eight finish in school history in the 100 butterfly Nigel Forbes.

Freri led the Horned Frog men with top-three finishes in all three of his races, including the day’s only win in the 200-meter breaststroke. On the women’s side Rylee Moore took third place in the 200m backstroke with a time of 2:02.87 and grade transfer Maddy Burt took third place in her first competition as a Horned Frog, touching the wall in the 100 fly in 55.73. Rhodes secured the lone win for the TCU women, outpacing the field in the 50 free in 23.43 seconds.

As a team, the 400 m medley relay from Moore, Nina VadovicovaBurt and Rhodes placed third (3:44.72) behind the two Texas A&M teams and the 200-meter freestyle relay team Rhanishka GibbsBurt, Lexi Drap and Karolin Victoria Kotsar also third (1:37.20).

The Frogs are back for day two of the Texas A&M Tri-Meet on Saturday, October 19 at 9 a.m. CT.
