Is Mel Medarda coming to League of Legends as champion?

As the release of Arcane Season 2 draws ever closer and Ambess Medarda is confirmed as the next playable champion, leaks are circulating that Mel Medarda, daughter of Ambess, will also be added to the game. According to the leaks, Mel would be a Mage Champion and could take inspiration from other Mage Champions already in the game.

Twitter user @LeagueOfLeaks uploaded this post on October 15th, showing a leaked image of potential champion icon Mel Medarda, as well as placeholder ability icons of other champions such as Lux and Kennen.

Who is Mel Medarda?

Mel is one of the main characters in Season 1 of the Netflix series Arcane. Mel is a politician and aristocrat and one of the most powerful people in all of Piltover. In Arcane, Mel forms a close relationship with Jayce, bringing him into Piltover’s elite council and working with him to lead Piltover into the golden age of hextech technology.

While we don’t have any information about her abilities yet, we know from the ability placeholder symbols that she will be an AP Mage Champion, with a supporting shield on her W. The recommended items for Mel, particularly Luden’s Companion and Horizon Focus says us that it will focus on taking down enemies from long range.

Mel Medara release date

There is no confirmed release date for Mel Medarda for League of Legends. However, according to the leaks, it could be released sometime in 2025 due to the hype surrounding the release of Arcane season 2. Mel could potentially be the first new champion of 2025 as League of Legends Season 15 begins.
