Blake Lively responds to Jason Kelce’s Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants review

Blake Lively thoroughly enjoyed Jason Kelce’s in-depth review of her 2005 film The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

The actress took to her Instagram Story on Friday to share her reaction to the former NFL player’s comments on the coming-of-age film. Lively starred alongside America Ferrera, Amber Tamblyn and Alexis Bledel in the Ken Kwapis-directed film. They later reprized their roles for a sequel in 2008.

Both Jason and Travis praised Lively for her performance in the film, which also marked her film debut. “She was absolutely great as Bridget,” Jason said, before Travis added: “Maybe she was a little biased, but I found Bridget’s story the most relatable and funny.”

The former Philadelphia Eagles player also noted that his wife, Kylie Kelce, chided him for not initially understanding the symbolic meaning behind the pants.

“Kylie said, ‘You idiot, that’s a symbol that their friends are always with them,'” Jason said. “And I thought, ‘Oh, okay, that makes sense.’ I guess I kind of understand the pants. I wanted the pants to be a bigger part of it. I wanted them to actually have magical powers in some way. And when that wasn’t the case and it was just jeggings that fit every figure, it was a little disappointing.”
