The Avicenna Free Clinic hosts the Community Health Fair

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – A free community event to promote affordable health care took place today for its second year.

The Avicenna Free Clinic in Panama City hosted the Community Health Awareness Fair at its Frankford Avenue location.

Providers founded included organizations such as Basic Northwest Florida, Encompass Health, Spare and numerous others.

Food trucks and games were available to entertain families attending the fair. Avicenna wants to educate the community about the resources available to them.

“When we can’t help in our office, these are the resources we turn to,” said Vivian Mohamed, office manager of the Avicenna Free Clinic.

Many of the resources featured at the show specialize in assisting people without insurance or those in need of insurance assistance.

Those unable to attend are asked to visit the Avicenna website for more information.
