The nine-year NBA veteran makes a bold statement from Jonathan Kuminga

For years we’ve been used to seeing the legendary Splash brothers Klay Thompson and Steph Curry together. With the end of an era comes the opportunity for other players to step up and show what they can bring to the table without the former number two starting against the Warriors.

During an episode of FanDuel TV’s Run It Back show, former 2011 SEC Player of the Year and nine-year NBA veteran Chandler Parsons spoke very candidly about who he thinks will have a standout performance on the West Coast this year.

“I have Jonahtan Kuminga, I think the expectations for him, without Klay, a team that’s kind of hampered, they believe in him and they’re going to invest in him,” Parsons said. “I think he has shown an evolution in his game, I think he will be a breakthrough player with more and more opportunities. When he plays with Steph Curry, who will require a lot of attention, he will be double-teamed, that’s him.” There will be a lot of openness for Kuminga. He’ll be a great guy.

Last year, Kuminga averaged 16 points per game and 4.8 rebounds on 53/32/75 splits. If he can improve his level by a fraction, the Warriors will continue to be a power in the West. Needless to say, there was a very good reason the Warriors were hesitant to include Kuminga in potential trades.

The Warriors may have lost a splash brother, but with the gap comes new chances and opportunities and now it’s time for Kuminga to step up and keep the Warriors’ legacy strong.
