Six Senses will open two new Italian outposts on Lake Como and Milan

Six Senses is in the midst of a hotel boom and now the brand is expanding its presence in Italy with new hotels in two iconic destinations.

The InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) company has teamed up with Italian real estate company Gruppo Statuto to build new resorts in the bustling city of Milan and on the idyllic shores of Lake Como. The news comes after the company opened an outpost at the Palazzo Salviati Cesi Mellini in Rome and opened Six Senses Antognolla in Umbria last year.

“Six Senses Milan and Six Senses Lake Como both have a purpose,” explains Neil Jacobs, CEO of Six Senses, in a press release. “The first is deliberately sized and designed to offer attentive hospitality and holistic wellbeing in one of Europe’s most dynamic fashion capitals. The second is a tranquil retreat in the most beautiful lakeside gardens, just 90 minutes away.”

The upcoming Six Senses Milan is expected to welcome guests in 2025 at Via Brera 19 in the city’s bohemian Brera district. The hotel will be located next to the Pinacoteca Museum, one of the largest and most important art galleries in Italy. In total, the palatial property will feature 68 guest rooms, including 15 spacious suites – two of which have private plunge pools. The rooms and public areas will shine in Arabescato marble, antique brass details, handcrafted smoked glass, textured ceilings and mosaic borders. Additionally, guests can enjoy the tranquil spa, a chic rooftop bar, an expansive sky pool, and a specialty restaurant serving seasonal dishes.

Six Senses will also open a Lake Como location in 2028 in Cadenabbia di Griante, a small village town that has attracted everyone from monarchs like Queen Victoria to writers like Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and Mary Shelley. The six-story resort with water views will take over the former Grand Hotel Cadenabbia. The historic villa is currently undergoing extensive restoration and conversion into a five-star Six Senses property.

The new hotel will be inspired by the region’s rich heritage and its connection to art, history and nature. Nestled in picturesque gardens, it will offer 102 rooms and suites. As for amenities, guests will find a floating pool on the lake and a sundeck to relax on. Additionally, you can enjoy the view from the hotel’s restaurant or the terrace bar on the fourth floor.
