CW Anderson Reflects on His Appearance in ECW Video Games: ‘They Were No Good’

CW Anderson was involved in two ECW video games in 2000 and recently recalled being in the games. ECW released Anarchy Rulz and Hardcore Revolution this year, and Anderson spoke about his involvement in the matches during his interview with Fightful. Below you can see the highlights:

On life as a video game junkie: “When I went to college to design video games because I’m a huge video game fan [fan]100%. Yes. I got drafted out of high school for Major League Baseball, and when that fell through, I kind of went to college and that’s about the time I started wrestling. I wanted to design video games. I’m still a fan of video games today. I still play video games, but when they told us we were going to be in a video game, Bill Wiles and I were the last two to be in that video game, but we had to sign papers saying we weren’t after that would ask for royalties for this video game.”

When signing the documents: “27, 28 years old, I didn’t care. I just wanted to star in a video game so I could star in a video game and see this character when they release it we had to create a claim to do the voice overs. I remember being in this eggshell room and having to scream your lines. Just the technology of the time. I thought it was really cool to be in a video game, but when I look at my character, it looks like you took my face, put it on your thumbnail, and blurred it out. I saw a video where Sasha Banks said that she was always me when playing the ECW video game. She said it looked like I wet my pants because of it.”

On the two ECW matches that weren’t good: “Yeah, one of them was Anarchy Rulz, and I can’t even remember which one was the first. Yes, hardcore revolution. Yes, there were two of them, and both were just ass. Man, they weren’t good at all. But to say I was in a video game, that was kind of cool, and in the Kings of Coliseum 2 video game in Japan it was really cool because the graphics were way better. The gameplay was better than the ECW game.”
