MassBay hosts open houses in the fall

MassBay Community College hosts its annual open house in the fall Saturday, November 16, 2024out of 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m on the Wellesley Hills campus.

The fall open house is the premier event in the college’s recruiting calendar and provides prospective students the opportunity to speak with current students, faculty and staff and learn about the 70 degree and certificate programs offered at MassBay. Participants learn more about the Free Community College Programs in Massachusettsincluding admission requirements and how you can take advantage of this opportunity to earn your degree for free. Other topics include MassBay credit transfer to undergraduate degrees, free academic support services, information for veterans, free resources available on campus such as emergency scholarships and free food, information about free mental health counseling, and more. The open house will include a self-guided tour of campus and on-site admissions, where staff will help participants enroll in college.

Recently, Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey and the state legislature funded free community college for Massachusetts residents who do not have a bachelor’s degree, regardless of age or income. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), www.fafsa.gov, be enrolled in an approved six-credit program of study, and have earned a high school diploma or equivalent.
