JuJu Smith-Schuster Questionable but ready to play

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Friday that Smith-Schuster (hamstring injury) is expected to play Sunday against the 49ers but is officially listed as questionable “just in case” he suffers a setback, ESPN’s Adam Teicher reports .com.

Reid said Smith-Schuster practiced Friday after hamstring cramps sidelined him Thursday, and that the veteran wideout was “good” today, according to Jesse Newell of The Kansas City Star. While Smith-Schuster isn’t completely clear for Sunday’s road contest, Reid is clearly optimistic about his chances of making the field. Before Kansas City’s bye in Week 6, Smith-Schuster caught seven of eight for 130 yards in Monday night’s win over the Saints. Smith-Schuster’s relationship with quarterback Patrick Mahomes makes him a candidate to replicate strong target volume against the 49ers, especially considering the Chiefs’ wide receiver room is depleted.
