Luca Guadagnino is in final negotiations to manage a new one American Psycho Film!

Lionsgate confirms that the upcoming film will be a reimagining of Bret Easton Ellis‘ book “American Psycho” and will not be a remake of the legendary 2000 film Christian Bale.

“We are thrilled to add another elite filmmaker to our upcoming roster,” said the chairman of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Adam Fogelson. “Luca is a brilliant artist and the perfect visionary to create a completely new interpretation of this powerful and classic intellectual property.”

Scott Z. Burnswho has previously written films like The Bourne Ultimatum, infectionAnd The laundromatwrote the script for the upcoming adaptation.

It is not yet known who will play the role of Patrick Bateman.

Here is the synopsis of the 2000 film: “In 1987 New York City, a handsome young urban professional, Patrick Bateman, lives a second life at night as a cruel serial killer. The cast consists of the detective, the fiancé, the lover, the colleague and the secretary. This is a biting, wry comedy that examines the elements that make a man a monster.”
