Bally Sports is rebranding as “FanDuel Sports Network” as part of a comprehensive commercial partnership

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – Diamond Sports Group LLC and FanDuel Group today announced an agreement for a comprehensive, long-term commercial partnership that would rebrand Bally Sports as “FanDuel Sports Network.”

According to a press release, the partnership between Diamond and FanDuel will take effect on October 21st.

The newly formed partnership includes:

  • Exclusive right to brand Diamond’s 16 regional sports networks (“RSNs”) and Diamond’s digital properties, including the direct-to-consumer (“DTC”) product, as the FanDuel Sports Network;
  • linear and digital media placement and integration capabilities for all live NBA, NHL and MLB games on FanDuel Sports Network;
  • shared commitment to developing a unified DTC app experience with the ability to syndicate FanDuel TV programming across the FanDuel Sports Network, including studio programming such as “Up & Adams,” “Run It Back,” and FanDuel TV’s live rights programming ;
  • FanDuel Receives Reseller Designation for Diamond’s DTC Product; and additional economic and equity elements.

“Working with FanDuel provides Diamond with an excellent opportunity to enhance the fan experience and deepen the value we provide to our team, our league and our distribution partners,” said David Preschlack, CEO of Diamond. “This partnership provides opportunities to further strengthen our RSNs’ deep connection with local fans, including enhancing our DTC offering to a growing digital audience. In the meantime, as we finalize agreements with the NBA, NHL and our key distribution partners, we remain focused on driving our business and driving value for our team partners and our stakeholders.”

On October 21, the following Bally Sports RSNs will officially rebrand under the FanDuel Sports Network brand: FanDuel Sports Network Detroit, FanDuel Sports Network Florida, FanDuel Sports Network Great Lakes, FanDuel Sports Network Kansas City, FanDuel Sports Network Indiana, FanDuel Sports Network Middle West, FanDuel Sports Network North, FanDuel Sports Network Ohio, FanDuel Sports Network Oklahoma, FanDuel Sports Network SoCal, FanDuel Sports Network South, FanDuel Sports Network Southeast, FanDuel Sports Network Southwest, FanDuel Sports Network Sun, FanDuel Sports Network West and FanDuel Sports Network Wisconsin.

“Partnering with Diamond provides us with the opportunity to place the FanDuel brand at the intersection of the nation’s largest group of regional sports networks,” said Mike Raffensperger, president of sports at FanDuel. “A large cohort of FanDuel customers are loyal RSN viewers and this agreement allows us to further solidify the FanDuel brand among sports fans and provides a unique means of rewarding our users.”

Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
