LA County vote centers opening soon and upcoming deadline to register to vote – Daily News

Election Day is fast approaching, but before November 5th arrives, there are a few more dates you need to mark on your calendar.

Monday, October 21st is the deadline to register to vote if you want to mail a mail-in ballot home. And beginning October 26, voters in Los Angeles County will be able to vote in person at select voting centers.

Those already registered to vote should have received their ballot earlier this month.

To register to vote or check if you are already registered, visit lavote.gov/home/voting-elections and click “Register” in the “Voter Registration” section.

Those who miss Monday’s deadline can still vote, but must show up in person at a vote center to register to vote and cast their vote.

Speaking of vote centers, LA County residents can vote in person or drop off their completed mail-in ballot at a vote center starting October 26th. More than 100 centers will open this weekend, with several hundred more opening the following weekend. said Mike Sanchez, a spokesman for the L.A. County Registrar’s Office.

Polling stations are open from October 26th to November 4th from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. And on November 5th – Election Day – the polls will be open longer, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m

Those who would like to vote in person but don’t want to wait until October 26 can now cast their vote at the LA County Registrar’s Office in Norwalk, 12400 Imperial Highway, Room 3002, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If you want to vote by mail, you have three options for sending your completed ballot by mail:

  • In the mailbox, postage free. Don’t forget to sign and date the return envelope. Your ballot will be counted as long as it is postmarked by November 5th.
  • At one of more than 400 ballot boxes throughout the county.
  • From October 26th at a voting center.

To find a drop box or vote center location, visit plan.lavote.gov. From there, you can also log in to track when your ballot has been received and counted by clicking the “Where’s My Ballot?” button. Link.
