What happened to Coyote vs Acme?

The Coyote vs Acme The film, which combined live-action and animation, was officially canceled by Warner Bros. in November 2023, although the film was fully completed and was just awaiting distribution. The circumstances behind the film’s cancellation sparked a scandal in Hollywood, as the film was shelved due to a major strategy shift toward theatrical releases and a $30 million tax write-off. The company had done similar things to other films Batgirl And Scoob!: Holiday Haunt.

The film had received great feedback from both test screenings and from industry insiders who had the opportunity to see the film both before and after its release, prompting flattering comparisons to the cult film Who framed Roger Rabbit? Despite this, and despite the obvious “efforts” to find another buyer for the film, it will unfortunately never see the light of day. Led by Dave Green and with a great cast including John Cena, Will Forte and Lana CondorThe film was based on the year 1990 New Yorker Article about Wile E. Coyote suing Acme Corporation over defective products, a great premise that deserves better.
